The second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic is currently hitting Nepal hard. Due to the dramatic increase in the number of cases, there are bottlenecks in medical care across the country. The rural regions in particular have hardly any funds to admit or treat COVID-infected patients.

OneLoveOneWorld (OLOW) together with Grassroots Movement in Nepal (GMIN) is providing COVID-19 emergency aid in Dang District in Lumbini, in mid-west Nepal. The Lumbini region, located in the Terai, is facing major challenges because the hospitals do not have sufficient bed capacity and resources to care for COVID patients. GMIN is working with the local government on site and is building temporary corona hospital wards for patients infected with COVID. In addition, in three village communities, in cooperation with the medical health centers, medical wards for patients infected with COVID-19 are supported with medical aids.
OLOW and GMIN supply the provincial hospital and the three medical wards of the village community with oximeters, personal protective equipment, masks, disposable gloves, face protection and glasses, as well as disinfectants.
Donate with the subject medical aids if you want to support the distribution of medical aids. We will support other health centers if we receive the donations so that we can continue to provide emergency aid.
OLOW supports breastfeeding mothers with food
The pandemic is particularly hard on people who are already poor, as they have not generated any income since the curfew. The debts that arose during the curfew last year have not yet been paid off, now it is getting even more difficult for many. Due to their role as caregivers at home, women are often excluded from assistance and useful contacts. Which makes them even more vulnerable during the curfew. OLOW is committed to nursing mothers whose food security is at risk. If the mothers do not eat food rich in vitamins, this has a direct detrimental effect on the children. To break this cycle, we give food to women in need.
Donate food with the subject line if you want to support the distribution of food. We will provide food support to more women and families during the crisis.
If you use the donation subject Coronahilfe, your donation will be used for COVID emergency aid.
