It started with Claudia Linde drawing our attention to the great campaign of the Sparkasse Siegen. The Sparkasse Siegen provided 80,000 euros for makeshift masks. NGOs were able to register for participation at the Sparkasse and sew makeshift masks for local retirement homes. The Sparkasse donated 8 euros per mask to the association.
Together with Marianne Eckhardt-Dörr, Claudia Linde has made 30 masks for the staff of the Marienheim nursing home in Siegen. We received a donation of 240 euros from the Sparkasse and the Marienheim was very happy about the support through the masks.
Claudia continues sewing and equipping people beyond her circle of friends and acquaintances with the masks. Marianne also equipped her surroundings with masks and thanks to the two volunteers we receive many individual donations from the region.
The donations go to Nepal and secure the support of the families of school sponsored children in the Corona crisis. OneLoveOneWorld is in regular contact with all families and supports them with financial means and food during the time of crisis. Many of the parents of the scholarship children cannot go to work due to the curfew. Some families live in extreme poverty and are only getting basic supplies at shops to which OLOW gave a guarantee to pay for those items. We cover the cost of basic food and are always there to provide psycho-social support. Our team on site always analyzes the situation and plans help according to need. We would like to thank Claudia and Marianne for their commitment!
All the best, Stay safe and happy
